adidas: Parley dwell zone
For the New York 5th ave. adidas flagship store, we were asked to re-imagine the entire five-story retail space in context to the new flagship offerings from Nike and Puma. We were asked to address big picture strategic problems as well as known tactical challenges with the store. Strategically, adidas would like to position the 5th ave. flagship store as a must-see destination for visitors and locals alike by creating in-store experiences that reflect the best expression of the brand and engage consumers in fresh and inspiring ways.
adidas has partnered with Parley for the Oceans to create a line of sneakers and apparel made 100% of recycled ocean plastics. As a company, they are taking on plastic waste by both educating the public on the problem and committing to be plastic-free as a company by 2024.
As education is a central strategy to this campaign, they are dedicating a large area in their New York flagship store to tell this story. The challenge is to use only sustainable materials in the retail buildout (Falcon board, projection mapping, lighting, post consumer plastic), while telling an impactful story that will captivate the consumer as they make their way through the store.
